1 - There are two original very yellowed newspaper clippings with the title "The Hill Roads of Waterbury" written by Mrs. Ralph Post. It was in the Waterbury Record August 7, 1941. 2 - This is an original newspaper clipping titled "Where 343 Miles of Superhighway Slated For Completion In State by 1970 Will Go". 3 - This is an original, very yellowed newspaper clipping with pictures titled "Interstate Highway Will Place Vt. Close To Large Cities". 4 - This is an original very old two page typed article on onion skin paper. The title of the article is "The Hill Roads of Waterbury". 5 - This is an original very yellowed newspaper clipping taken from the Waterbury Record on June 17, 1943. The title of the article is "Reminiscence of The Old Plank Road". 6 - There is an original handwritten letter from Bishop Lewis O. Hartman of the Methodist Church, 226 Bay State Road, Boston 15, Mass. This was written on 12/28/1954. Along with the Bishop's letter that are two letters he written to him, one on January 15, 1955 and the second on February 23, 1955. 7 - There is a original six page typed article titled "Some Early Roads", written by Richard Reynolds of Waterbury High School. Not sure of th date because the end of the date was worn off. 8 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "Big Horses and Snow Rollers in Vermont - Sixty Years ago Snow Stayed On Roads". It was written by Harold Patch. 9 - This is an original yellowed article written by Harvey D. Robinson titled "Reminiscences of The Old Plank Road". 10 - This is an article taken from The Vermonter dated December 1942 (p. 173) titled "Plank Road" 11 - This is an original six page article taken from "The Vermonter" dated October-November 1942. The title of the article is An Old Stage Road" by Jenie M. Burke of Springfield, Vermont. 12 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "Travel Was Slow Years Ago In Greater Waterbury Area". 13 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "No Plowing or Salt In Old Days". 14 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "More Permanent Road". 15 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "Old Document Dates Plant Road At 1849". 16 - This is an original yellowed newspaper clipping titled "Century Old Record of Lamoille County Plank Road Company Found In Waterbury". 17 - This is an original booklet owned by D. Goodrich. It was a "Plank Road Acct" book 18 - This is an original booklet (cover is red) titled "Roads - ruby Raymond, Guptil, Route 100 plus." 19 - This is a rather large map of Waterbury with the roads. 20 - This is a photocopy of an article taken from the Stowe Reporter dated September 29, 2006. The title of the article was "Waterbury Roundabout To Replace T Intersection". 21 - This is a photocopy of an article taken from the Vermont Journal dated October 18 2006 titled "Waterbury Goes Round:". 22 - This is a photocopy of an article taken from the Stowe Reporter dated July 31, 2008 titled "Traffic Light Should Ease Backups Off I-89". 23 - This is a photocopy of an article taken from the Times Argus dated August 21, 2008 titled "Route 100 Signal Operational Today". |
