Included in this packet is a cash accounting sheet as well as the twenty goods receipts pertaining to that sheet for the month of November, 1864. Each receipt is numbered to correspond to the numbered items on the accounting sheet. Items purchased were lots of apples, butter, milk, onions,eggs, nuts, cranberries, cider, oysters, potatoes, turnips, cabbage, poultry, pork, mutton, sausage, tripe, liver, salt, sage, ginger, lamb, lemons, lard, carrots, squash, beets, pumpkin, beef, brown bread, Cross crackers, pie plates, collander, oil, lamp wicks, trimmers, and lamp oil, stove polish, 6-quart pans, dish pan, dipper, sieve, shovels and a varnish cup. Number 19 from D. Dewey has a two-cent US Inter. Rev. Bank Check stamp attached and cancelled with a penned X. All of these goods were purchased in Montpelier for use at the Sloan Hospital. |
