2 - Meeting Notes of the Waterbury Historical Society, one in April 1962 , guest speaker Paul Bigelow. These notes are typed on 8.5 x 11" off-white paper. 1 - A short two page one-sided history about Waterbury's name, the separate villages, post offices, factories, rivers etc. This is typed on off-white paper measuring 6" x 8.75". The article was written by Esther Munroe Swift, Vermont Place-Names, Footprints of History. Brattleboro, VT., The Stephen Greene Press, c. 1977. 701 p. Bibliography. 1 - A very short article about Ralph Putnam speaking briefly at the Waterbury Historical Society meeting on research he had done on Revolutionary soldiers buried in Waterbury, 24, five of whose graves are still to be located. 1 - "The History of Waterbury, Background and Early Settlers". 1 - A one-sided four page article written by Alice Post titled "Waterbury's Eastern Hills." This was taken from an earlier paper published in the Waterbury Record, August 7, 1941. 1 - photocopied newspaper article written by Nora J.Skjold, title of article is "Waterbury Historians look back to Civil War, Ahead to Town Meeting". It starts out talking about Dr. Janes and he being in charge of the hospital in Gettysburg, Pa but being from Waterbury, VT. 1 - Photocopy of The Waterbury Record dated Thursday, August 7, 1941, 5 pages, one-sided. Measures to be 11" x 17". 1 - Original newspaper clipping written by Senator Bill Doyle. Title of the article is "Three Vermont Governors from Waterbury". 1 - Yankee Magazine January 1991 with an article written by Tanya Tabachnikoff titled "Going Crazy Over Waterbury" 1 - Original newspaper clipping written by Kirt Zimmer titled "Money Magazine spotlights Waterbury as "boom town". 1 - Photocopy of a newspaper article from the Barre Times Argus dated December 8, 1993 written by Kathleen Hentcy. The article was titled "Money Magazine ranks Waterbury As "Idyllic Town". 1 - Original newspaper clipping dated 1941 written by Lyle S. Woodward. Title of the article is "This Is Waterbury. The Human Side f a Small Town's History". 1 - Vermonter section of the Burlington Free Press dated Sunday, Jauary 22, 1984. The title on the front page along with a picture of Stowe Street in Waterbury VT is "Waterbury Alive, From Drab to Fab". The paper is 8 pages including the front page. It is very fragile. The opening side of the paper is ripped up on the first two pages. 1 - A three stapled together three page article written by Kirt Zimmer. It is the final installment in the three part series on the Town of Waterbury. The article was in the Stowe Reporter dated May 20, 1993. 1 - An original newspaper clipping dated April 30, 1973 written by Richard Davis. The article is titled "Association Session Recalls Waterbury History" 1 - Original newspaper page from the Burlington Free Press and Times dated Friday, February 24, 1922. The article was written by C.A. G. Jackson. The title of the article is "Waterbury: A Flourishing Town - Larger Vermont Communities Series." 1 - Newspaper clipping from the Stowe Reporter . The title of the article is "Waterbury, Vermont". Date of this article was May of 1975. 1 - Original 4 page newspaper. Name of the newspaper was "Recreatio Crossroads of Vermont. Waterbury". The paper is dated, Special 1982 Summer/Fall Welcome Guide. 1 - Town of Waterbury Zoning Map dated December 1979. Measurement of this map is 11" x 17". 1 - Advertisements of the Suburban List, an Essex Junction Newspaper, published on Thursday of each week. When you open it up, there is a map of Waterbury streets. There phone numbers on the right as to how to get in touch with doctors, dentist, school, etc. It measures to be 12" x 17.5". 1 - An original 26 page, one-sided, history of Waterbury by date. 1 - This is a 5 page typed report done by Caroline McLeod and Jaunita Martin. The article was titled "Health". It is rather tattered on the edges. 1 - Photocopied article written by James M. Holway. The article is about Alice Mary Somerville. 1 - This is a 7 page, one-sided typed article titled "Amasa Pride, Waterbury's First Merchant and Inn-Keeper. 1 - Article taken out of "The World". The title was "Waterbury, Waterbury History". 1 - This is a very small typed written paragraph titled "The Flood of 1927". The writing was about the Waterbury Public Library and the flood. 1 - This is a 5 page, one-sided typed written article prepared and read by Alice Jennings, Post for the Waterbury Historical Association Meeting held in the Grange Hall, August 1958. The title of the article is "Waterbury's Eastern Hills". 1 - Waterbury Transportation: Village Map created 11/1/2002 measuring 11" x 17". 1 - Map of Waterbury done on 11" x 17" white paper. 1 - 2 page, two-sided typed article titled "Celebrate The Century, 100 Years of Waterbury History". 1 - One page with black and white pictures of School House and Congregational Church, Stowe Street, Corner North Main and Stowe sts, Corner South Main and Stowe Sts and Early Bank Hill. 1 - Two page typed article about religion, the library, recreational and about a meeting of the Waterbury Historical Society on October 28, 1970. 1 - Two page typed article titled "Waterbury, Vermont". 1 - A 7 page one-sided typed on off-white paper is titled "An Introduction to Waterbury". The writing was done partly by Steven Doran, David Harvey, Joyce Welch, Linda Lemery and Peggy Duprey. Tattered edges to the report. 1 - 2 page, one-sided typed, titled "1914-1919, These sought not glory but their country's good." (Army, Navy, Marine, Army Nursing Corp and Died In Service). 4 - Handwritten articles from the Waterbury Record (Four pages): 11/10/1903 - Old Home Department - Hotels: 11/24/1903 - Park Row; 12/1/1903 - Vermont State Hospital For the Insane and 12/8/1903 starting out with the death of Charles Graves. |
