This item is a 10"x11.5" ring bound notebook of 30 archival pages, most with two sheets of typed paper but a few with several pages slipped in it. Inside the front cover pocket is a white posterboard 8"x10" in size; the posterboard contains an image of the Ayers Family crest. In the back of the notebook is a white envelope (3.5"x6.5") titled "Gleason Ayers 4 photographs." Inside are photographs of Jerry, Nathaniel, Joseph, and Stephen Ayers. Then there is a map of the "now-flooded Little River area" clipped from a newspaper. Next are four archival pages (not bound in) of Ayers family reunions, various family members including the Chipperfield family, Adams family, Tatro family, Rowell family, French family and Eddy family. Tucked in a pocket on the back cover is a 6"x10" piece of cardboard with a poem entitled "Mixture of joy & trouble I daily do pass through" written by J. Ayers (likely Jasper) and dated "October the 18-1888." |
