Included in this packet is a statement of contingent cash accounts for March 1865 together with thirty purchase vouchers (received by Charles A. Jenney) and a certified list of provisions purchased by officers in March 1865. The Montpelier purveyors of supplies were Mark French, L.B. Huntington, J.C. & S. Brown, Denison Dewey, R. H. Whittier, C. & C. Cross & Son, L.C. Gillman, Bailey & Brother, H.M. Cummings, J.R. Langdon, Bancroft & Holmes, C.W. Stores, John A. Taft & Co., A.M. Jackman, J.W. Ellis, J.G. Smith, and Alex. Campbell. The purchases included oysters, butter, eggs, lemons, fresh fish, saleratus, turnips, potatoes, oil, lamp wicks, lamps & stand, lamp chimneys, stove polish, coffee pots, deep dishes, clothes wringer,plates, flat plates, cups, boilers, flour, chicken, pork, mutton, tripe, beef, milk and Cross bread and crackers. Three officers signed the list of provisions: H.A. Crandall, Alonzo Webster, and ? Riply. The list contains potatoes, milk, eggs, brown bread, pickles, candles, pepper, butter, onions, turnips, bacon, oysters, crackers. B.W. flour, hominy, rice and fresh fish. |
