Included in this packet is a statement of contingent case accounts for February1865 together with twenty-six offical purchase vouchers and one certified list of officers' purchases signed by a chaplain. The Montpelier purveyors of supplies were William E. Hubbard, Jacob Cutter, Lucius Cummings, James R. Langon, Mark French, Samuel Crawford, A.G.Hill, Bailey & Brother, Austin Peck, David Strickland, R.W.Barton, J.C. & S. Brown, L.C.Gillman, Alexander Campbell, R.H.Whittier, C.H.Cross & Son, and Denison Dewey. The purchases included eggs, potatoes, flour, oysters, butter, apples, fresh fish, milk, chicken, pork, mutton, tripe, ice, beef, soft bread, brown bread, boiler, funnel, sodder (sic), hanging lamps, oil, wicks, shades & chimneys, stove blacking & brushes, wire, bristol brick, corn meal, hominy, molasses, pickles, turnips, onions, bacon, vinegar, and crackers. Voucher no. 8 paid $75 cash on an account with A.G.Hill. |
