1 - This is an original newspaper clipping titled "Winooski River Takes Life of Scoutmaster." Frederick Luce of Waterbury drowned as canoe overturns; Companion saved. This took place in the swollen swift Winooski River. The victim was Frederick L. Luce, 30-year old Waterbury boy scoutmaster and youth leader. His companion in the canoe, Patrick Q. Quinn, 24, also of Waterbury, managed to swim safely to shore. |
