Description |
This is an original sepia photo of the Grammar School Graduation of 1917 (Class of 1921). The photo is in a brown frame under glass. The photo is on a brownish colored cardboard backing that has a grey frame around the photo. In the lower right hand corner the words "Hoglund, Waterbury, Vt" are imprinted. The photo measures to be about 12.25" x 13.75", the frame 13" x 15" and the cardboard backing 12.25" x 13.75". There are 42 students. Also there is the Class Marshal, Doris Houston and the teacher beside her, Miss Clarissa Carpenter. The boys are all dressed in suits. The girls are all dressed in white. Everyone but who looks to be the teacher are pinned with a flower. In the upper right hand corner stuck to the glass is a white sticker with the words "Class of 1921 - Grammar School Graduation 1917 (over)". On the back it is written "Class of 1921, Waterbury Grammar School - 1917. Beneath that are the names written in blue ink. In the lower right hand corner is written "Gift of Ms. Dustin Cooley". |
