Description |
This is an original sepia photo on cardboard. The cardboard measures to be about 8" x 10". The pictures alone measures to be about 6.5" x 9". There are two buildings in the photo that are attached one looking newer then the other. There is a stack of wood piled at the end of the building on the left. The older part has a stone foundation. There is a chimney on each building. Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Marshall are sitting in front of the house. Fred Marshall is standing in the background with two horses. There is a paper taped to the bottom of the photo that says :The Dibbell Homestead, On Gregg Hill". On the back of the cardboard it has the words "Historical Society", "Gift of Mrs.Rena Marshall". It is also written "Dibbell Homestead - Gregg Hill", "Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Marshall, Fred Marshall". In the center of the back of the photo there is a stamp "NOTICE, all communications in relation to our work must positively be addressed to A. M. SLOCUM, Manager of the division of the Norther Survey Co, Waterbury, Vt". In the lower left hand corner the words "Wat. Hist So.". In the upper left hand corner there is an old white catalogue sticker. The back of the picture looks as though has water stains. Fred Marshall, son of Lorenzo and Mariah (Hastings) Marshall, b. 5 February 1964; d. 15 October 1908. |
